This is real output from an actual language sample, generated in under a minute.
MLU of 8.58 morphemes per utterance, well beyond Brown's Stage V, consistent with typical development for a school-age child. Complex syntax and narrative structure are present throughout the sample.
8 utterances · 95 total words · 62 different words · TTR: 0.65. Multiple maze behaviors present ("um," "uh," false starts), typical for connected conversational speech at this age.
Strong narrative skills with personal topic maintenance. Age-appropriate complex syntax and vocabulary. Minor word-finding instances noted. Overall language sample suggests typical development with no significant concerns.

Improving communication outcomes and quality of life for children with speech and language challenges
Everything you need to get accurate language analyses from your audio recordings.
For the most accurate analysis, record a spontaneous language sample, a natural conversation rather than a structured test. Aim for at least 50 utterances from the child.
Click Start Analysis after selecting your file. SLPA will upload the audio, convert it to text, then perform a full clinical analysis. The whole process typically takes under a minute for short samples.
If multiple speakers are detected, SLPA automatically identifies which speaker is the child and analyzes only their utterances.
Results are presented in two tabs:
The child's utterances, numbered and cleaned up. Proper names are automatically redacted (e.g. “A****”) to protect privacy.
Full clinical breakdown including MLU calculation, SALT measures, Brown's stage, TTR, intelligibility score, and clinical recommendations.
You can also use Edit & Re-analyze to correct the transcript before analysis, which is useful if a word was misheard.
Create folders to organize analyses by client, date, or assessment type. Files stay in the Unsorted folder until you move them. You can rename files by clicking on the file name.

Hi! I'm Isaiah Hamblin, a high school student at Issaquah High School (Class of 2027). I spend my time building web applications, coding competitively, running track and cross country, making YouTube videos, and playing chess.
For the past four years, I've worked alongside speech-language pathologists. In that time I've also tutored neurodiverse children. Through this experience, I witnessed something that frustrated me: incredibly skilled professionals spending hours manually calculating tedious arithmetic and performing language analysis that could easily be automated. It felt like the entire field had been just waiting for innovation.
The inspiration for SLPA came from a simple observation – language analysis was stuck in the past while AI technology was racing ahead. I felt that this field was in desperate need of innovation that had been missing for far too long. As someone who builds web applications and understands both the technical possibilities and the real-world workflows of SLP professionals, I realized I was in a unique position to bridge that gap.
My diverse background – from web development to content creation to working directly with children who have communication challenges – gives me a perspective that purely technical or purely clinical approaches might miss. I understand the importance of user experience from my YouTube work, the technical requirements from my development projects, and most importantly, the real human impact from my years working with children and the professionals who serve them.
SLPA represents my belief that technology should amplify human expertise, not replace it. By automating the time-consuming analytical work, we free up speech-language pathologists to focus on what they do best – building relationships with their clients and providing the personalized care that makes a real difference in people's lives. That's the vision driving every feature I build into this platform.
